Assessment of Mbweni Mangrove Forest

In June 2017 Mikoko Scout Group had started its initiatives to organize assessment of the Mangrove Nature Conservation Center to locate the nature classes camping sites as well as the sites for helping kids, youth and elders who will visit the site next year to learn deeply about nature and conservation of marine ecosystem through Mangrove Forest Management partnering with Mbweni Community members.

In this assessment finally found that there are many species that needed to be conserved and well understood by the community what is the uniqueness of the natural resources we have.

2017 Scout Nature Camping

Post Title

In August 2017 about 31 youth scouts had been in a scout nature camping organized by Master Izack and Mikoko Scout Group in this camp Mikoko Scout Group had presented by Olais K. Raphael. Sessions have been well organized and the lessons provided including 1. Introduction to concept of nature, 2. Identification of species, 3. Protected and managed areas, 4 Basic scouting skills 5. Simple basic research skills and 6. Introduction of biodiversity.

The camp had took about three days in which participants had enjoyed through having fun, network, simple activities and systematic skills addopted by participants of the camp. Youth had financed themselves as they are really interested to study about nature and conservation
