About Mikoko Development Foundation in Kilimanjaro Region

Mikoko Development Foundation through its Policies, Organization and Procedures (POP) gives power to local MDF chapters to develop its local action plans and coordinate them under the office of Secretary General of Mikoko Development Foundation Head Quaters.

Early 2020 Office of Secretary General of Mikoko Development Foundation has appointed Mr. Peter Michael Makundi to take position of Mikoko Regional Coordinator this position will be in term of 5 years. Duties and Responsibilities of stipulated under OPP that gives power to Office of Secretary General to delegate power to Regional and District Coordinators to serve for the purpose of local communities.

Developing National plans or project always got the engagement of Regional and District Coordinators that we alwasy focus on supporting local communities in Tanzania.

MDF - HQ is always provide basic capacity building to its network members through Regional and District Coordinators and here is where we buidling strong sustainable next generation that able to solve its own problems and challenges

Our netowrk is well connected with youth groups who are strongly involve and direct invest their efforts towards becoming registered and certified Cultural Tourism Enterprises through our Regional and District youth programs.

Information About Kilimanjaro Region

About Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions with a postcode number 25000. The regional capital is the municipality of Moshi. According to the 2012 national census, the region had a population of 1,640,087, which was lower than the pre-census projection of 1,702,207 For 2002-2012, the region's 1.8 percent average annual population growth rate was the 24th highest in the country. It was also the eighth most densely populated region with 124 people per square kilometer.

The region forms part of the Northern Tourism Circuit in Tanzania. It is home to the highest peak mountain in Africa the Kilimanjaro Mountain undergraduate Kilimanjaro National Park, the Mkomazi National Park, the Pare Mountains, Lake Jipe, Lake Chala, tropical forests and waterfalls. The region is bordered to the north and east by Kenya, to the south by the Tanga Region, to the southwest by the Manyara Region, and to the west by the Arusha Region.
