MDF’s institutional story is grounded in practical work with communities, young people and natural-resource priorities rather than a top-down project model.
From activities to accountable programmes
As responsibilities grew, MDF developed clearer governance, departments, programme systems, due diligence, financial controls, monitoring and digital reporting so locally led work can be supported responsibly.
Local ownership at greater scale
MDF prioritizes locally owned projects: communities and local institutions identify needs, participate in design, help define results and remain central to implementation and accountability.
